2025-2026
The Harvard Global Investment Challenge (HGIC) is a financial investment competition for high school students. HGIC is hosted by the The Charles River Growth Fund, a public equities fund run by harvard undergurates. Students participating HGIC needs to form a team of four analysts.
Over a one-month period, participants are tasked with managing a portfolio from a designated stock pool, which involves executing trades in our stock trading simulator, composing an equity analysis report and investment memo, and presenting their strategy to Harvard judges.

Immersive Real-World Investment Simulation
Dive into a one-month, highly realistic investment experience where you manage a portfolio selected from HGIC’s designated stock pool. Gain hands-on practice in executing trades, responding to real-time global market price fluctuations, and making weekly critical decisions (e.g., stock selection and sell timing) with substantial virtual capital—mirroring the daily workflow of professional fund managers.
Professional Analysis & Harvard-Judged Presentation
Go beyond basic trading: collaborate with your team to craft a professional investment strategy report using industry-standard tools, cashflow models and interpret company financial statements to identify high-potential stocks. Top advancing teams will present their strategies directly to CRGF judges, turning the competition into a platform to showcase academic rigor and strategic thinking to a world-class panel.
Globally Recognized Achievements & Networking
Compete alongside outstanding high school students worldwide, expanding your global perspective and building connections with peers passionate about finance. Winners receive official HGIC certificates—a standout credential to strengthen university applications and a “golden ticket” for future careers in investment management, hedge funds, or investment banking. Finalists also get opportunities to engage with seasoned industry professionals on the judge’s panel for invaluable guidance.
